hiya Coffee Cup,
I had such a wonderful time at The Podcast Show last week. But there was one undertalked about topic that I wanted to highlight in today’s episode: ChatGPT (and other LLMs). I have theories on why this is and what we can do to fix the problem.
But first, let’s go over some AI podcasting resources that you might find useful.
AI tools from The Podcast Show
Manish Verma, an independent podcast producer in London, shared his notes from James Cridland of Podnews talk on AI for podcasting. Manish listed and linked the tools mentioned in the session. Now that’s a labo(u)r of love! Thanks Manish.

Which of these do you use? Or might you use?

The Podcast Show in London AI Recap (new episode)
Online the topic of AI comes up everywhere. It's impossible to ignore. Is this true of the sessions and conversations at The Podcast Show last week in London? Spoiler: no. Let's talk about why and how we can help ease people into the joy of what LLMs can do for podcast workflow. Proud to be part of these events in 2024!
At Home With The Intuitive Cook: Guest
Was delighted to chat about my new cooking adventures with Katerina. There’s a very real tie map from my experiments in general, with food and with technology. Have a listen and let me know if you see it (and if you’re the same way…or not)

The International Women’s Podcast Awards: Judge
The International Women’s Podcast Awards in person event happens on June 19th in London. I’m delighted to be a judge for the event this year. It’s really changed my mind on awards shows because of how Naomi Mello, the Founder, and her crew rate the podcasts.

Main Takeaways:
Nothing is 100 percent good or bad, right? So let’s get into some nuances of why the conference rocked and sucked.
The Podcast Show was magnificent as a gathering spot
the overblown hype of AI and LLMs specifically is turning people off of trying them for their podcast useage
Chatty has been a mess since they released ChatGPT 4o. a hot mess!
those of us who are excited about LLMs for podcasting purposes need to focus on what can be done NOW, not future capabilities.
